Marc de La Bruyère joined our Edmonton selection committee as an interviewer in 2014. He is the Managing Director and Chairman of Maclab Enterprises, a privately held real estate company active in Alberta, BC and the Northwest Territories. Marc previously worked as a consultant with McKinsey & Co. and holds an MBA from INSEAD. In November 2015, he was appointed to a council advising the Premier on issues of economic development, innovation and job creation.
A community leader, Marc has served on educational, charitable and non-profit boards. He served as a member of the University of Alberta’s Board of Governors for a decade and has been chairing the University’s President’s Society since 2013. An undergraduate theatre major, Marc also serves as a Governor of Citadel Theatre.
Marc enjoys interviewing Loran candidates at the regional level. “It is thrilling to meet young people who are genuinely committed to community service, curious to learn and motivated to take on greater responsibilities. I come away from each interview feeling more hopeful about Canada’s future.”
Marc and his family are supporting a 2015 de La Bruyère Loran Award for Iryna Luchak. Iryna, who is originally from Edmonton, is studying engineering at UBC.
